Is Google making us stupid? No, infact it may be just the opposite. Google is allowing us to accesss literally tons of data and information in a matter of seconds. Whereas before Google one would have spent hours in a library researching a topic. Also with the advancement of todays technology it is becoming possible to access this information from anywhere and at anytime. "In the world of 2001, people have become so machinelike that the most human character turns out to be a machine." Nicholas Carr seems to think that eventually humans will be so dependent on the Internet that we will be come like computer-like or machinelike. Which is not true humans will ev olve with the technology, incorporating it into our society without allowing it to govern or run our society. One question that Carr's article does bring to mind, Is it possible for technology that humans create to grow and improve itself without the help of humans? If so then maybe Carr's futuristic vision of a machine ruled world may hold some merit after all.
